Maryville, Tennessee – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong announced that members of the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force arrested two individuals on drug charges following a search warrant at a residence in Maryville Wednesday morning.
- Anthony Martell Dancy, 25, Detroit, Michigan, is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance with intent to resell (heroin), possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, simple possession of Schedule VI (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Artie Joseph Sapp, 63, East First Street, Maryville, was charged with maintaining a dwelling where drugs are used or sold, delivery of a Schedule I controlled substance (heroin), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrests were the result of an investigation by the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force into illegal drug activity at the residence on First Street. Wednesday, narcotics investigators, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) team, executed a search warrant at the residence. During the course of the investigation, investigators and agents confiscated a half ounce of heroin, marijuana, a handgun, drug paraphernalia, and $5450 cash.
The Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force is comprised of deputies and officers from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, Maryville Police Department, Alcoa Police Department, and the Blount County District Attorney General.
