Sheriff’s Office offering $5,000 reward in unsolved homicide
March 13, 2025
Maryville, Tennessee – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong is asking citizens who may have information about the disappearance and death of Cheyenne Tonisha Shropshire in 2018 to come forward. The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for her death.
Cheyenne Shropshire was reported missing by a family member to the Sheriff’s Office on September 8, 2018. On March 21, 2020, Cheyenne’s remains were located in a field on Old Middlesettlements Road. Sheriff’s investigators continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death. Forensics experts at Knox County Regional Forensic Center ruled Cheyenne’s death as a homicide. The last sighting of Cheyenne was on August 24, 2018 near a business on Alcoa Highway.
Investigators are following up on all leads regarding the circumstances surrounding Cheyenne’s death and are hoping others who have information will come forward.
“All of us at the Sheriff’s Office want Cheyenne’s killer brought to justice,” Sheriff Berrong said. “Her tragic death left her children without their mother, her parents without their daughter, and her siblings without a sister. Solving this case won’t bring Cheyenne back, but it will hopefully bring some closure for her family who still grieve her death. We are asking anyone with information about her death, even if you think it’s trivial, to come forward.”
If you have information that may lead to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for Cheyenne’s death, or if you have any information that you believe would be helpful in solving this case, please notify Sgt.
