Personal Property
- When an inmate is admitted to the facility, their personal property will be inventoried and entered into the Sheriff’s Office Jail Management System.
- Retained inmate personal property will be secured in the property room and will remain in this area until it is given to an authorized party or returned to the inmate on release.
Property Release
- Inmates will be responsible for arranging the pickup of items not permitted in the ADC.
- Property not picked up within 30 days after release from the facility will be considered abandoned, and will be destroyed.
- Inmates must advise anyone picking up your property that they may be required to wait, and that they must possess a valid picture identification (such as a driver’s license) before the property will be released to them.
- Any person authorized in writing by an inmate to pick up personal property (except clothing) will sign a receipt for those items.
Property Pickup Schedule
- Tuesday — 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. or 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- Saturday — 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. or 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Relocation
- If an inmate is to be released to another facility, their property will be sent with them. However, if the facility they are going to does not permit it then it will follow the same guidelines as property release.
- An inmate may request a property release form prior to their transfer.
Money
- Money brought into the ADC by an inmate will be counted by an officer and the amount will be indicated on the intake processing form that the inmate will sign. This money is placed in a secure box in Intake until the inmate’s disposition is determined.
- If the inmate is to be released by a court or they bond out, they will receive the money and other property they brought into the facility when they are released.
- If, however, the inmate is not released by a court or bond out the money will be placed in the inmate’s account.
- Upon the inmate’s release, a debit card will be issued. Any applicable fees will be deducted from the inmate’s account before the card is issued.
