Blount County juvenile charged with sex crimes

Maryville, Tennessee – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said investigators arrested and charged a 14-year-old Blount County boy with two counts of aggravated rape of a child by delinquent.

The boy is being held at the Blount County Juvenile facility pending a hearing in Blount County Juvenile Court within 72 hours.

The investigation began on March 17, 2025 when Sheriff’s investigators confirmed that a 4-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by the boy while she was attending an in-home daycare in Blount County. Investigators are working a parallel investigation with DCS into the incident and are in the process of trying to identify and confirm other possible victims.

The in-home daycare owner voluntarily closed her business. The investigation is continuing.
